Boo!

Halloween cards are so much fun to make.  Then again, I think almost every card is fun to make!  Fall colors are terrific and add such depth to cards.  The card below is full of colors and embellishments.

The basic card is kraft stock with a solid orange layer.  The printed paper was purchased last year, but I think it is Martha Stewart.    Burlap is so perfect for Halloween and other fall cards.  I remembered I had a ribbon that sort of looked like spider webbing and found this metallic webby type ribbon in my box.

I love the splatter stamp and Copic colored pumpkins, too.

After making this card, I realized I needed to make another to send to my sister.   The card is pretty much the same except for the orange tag behind the 'boo!' stamp.

The orange tag does make a difference.  I can't decide which I like better.  What do you think?

I'm entering the second card in The Shabby Tea Room #186 Challenge.
The challenge was to create a card based on this picture and include burlap, twine and a pumpkin or two.  Fun!

Enjoy your week,
Kathy

  2. Yes I like that you added the orange behind your sentiment. Here is a tip that I learned a long time ago from a class teacher and that I always pass along to my class participants--"always add a pice of card stock behind your sentiment, as it sets it apart and makes it stand out. It is the sentiment , that is the reason for giving/sending the card, so you want the recipient to see the sentiment right away!" Hope that helps. So when I look at your second card the first thing my eye saw was the little "boo" spider. See, great job! Thanks for playing in The Shabby Tea Room this week!
