For all Librarians and Book Lovers

Love this die!  I've made several cards with this die and love the results.  The cards can be a birthday card, a card with retirement wishes or just to say hello.  I like the different look of the books with the  printed paper and the plain white cardstock.

Have a great day!

Layers of Books

Love this image of a stack of books and a coffee cup - love the old fashioned design of the books.    I added a little bit of gold on several of the books.  When I saw the challenge theme for The Library Challenge, this layered stack of books came to mind immediately.

Coffee and Books

Love sitting down with a cup of coffee and a great book.  What could be better!

This colorful card is a lovely stack of unique books with a special cup on top.  Copic coloring on white with dotted designer paper and white card stock frames on a black base card.

Another coffee card for the 2020 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

All Booked Up

The past couple weeks I have been 'decluttering' my house.  We have lived in this house for seventeen years and have accumulated so much good but unnecessary stuff.  My library, in particular, has suffered the most.  I just keep adding books, card making materials and crochet patterns and I've run out of space.

So, with Marie Kondo in mind, I started looking at each book:  do you bring me joy?  Surprisingly, some did not.  Those books were put in boxes immediately to go to the Woman's Club Out of the Attic Sale later this month.

Then the new Library Challenge was posted - Reader's Choice -- good timing!  I almost chose Marie Kondo's, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.  Instead I selected a book I read many years ago, All Booked Up by Terrie Curran.  The title is perfect for how I am feeling now.  And this book is still on my shelf bringing me joy!

Here's my card:

I'm sure I'll be able to send this card to someone in the future!!

I'll also add this card to the Simon Says Monday Challenge Stamp It

Happy Retirement & Book Lover

Another retirement card.  This time I used a background of bookshelves loaded with books and a globe and I edged the background card stock with gold ink.

Simple and quick to create.

Have a great weekend!

So many books...

Card #3 for the 2019 Spring-Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!   I think this card is a favorite.  Probably because it just hits so close to home.  My bookshelves and Kindle are overflowing with books I want to read, but...  So many books, so little time!

This card has several layers.  The base card is green and the frame behind the white top piece is the same color.  The clock paper is on a white frame.

Have a great day!

2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog

Here is my last card for the 2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog.  Sigh.  I love making these cards and love this blog challenge.   I don't remember how I came upon it, but I'm so glad I did.  Can't wait for the winter blog challenge!

We are hosting a birthday party tomorrow which should be fun.  Last summer picnic (grilling and potato salad) and terrific weather.

Have a great weekend!
