Ahoy

February is almost here and then March and then April....  YAY!  I'm already tired of the cold and snow.  So, I'm thinking of warmer weather,  the beach and flowers.  So for the next week I will be making beachy cards and flower pot cards.  Can't wait.

Here is the first beachy card.  A world map in the background, compass and little flag with waves and AHOY!  You can't really see it, but the compass is stamped beneath the raised cutout compass.

Watercolor Flower

The flower on this card remind me of the sun -- bright and cheerful.  The sun is shining this morning after torrential rains yesterday and last night.  The rain was pretty steady and I slept very well!

Following the sketch on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge,  I made this card with a brown base and golden yellow variants.  I stamped the flower in two colors on a piece of watercolor paper and used my waterpen to till in the petals.  And the final touch was the cute little cupcake flag.

Have a great weekend!

A Day Bright With Sunshine

Love this sentiment:  Wishing you a day bright with sunshine.  After a long, long winter we are all wishing for a bright day!

The sentiment just calls for bright and cheery colors and flowers.  I stamped the sunflowers with VersaMagic and then used my water pen to fill in the flowers and then added some bling and a sweet little white bow.

I'll post this card to Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #215

Have a great weekend.

Hello

A simple card just to say 'hello.'

Aren't these colors great!  I love purple and teal together -- so rich.  I added a bright white flower with leaves and some bling.    I bought these flowers and leaves at AC Moore last year but haven't used them at all till now.

I made this card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  The card measures about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" which just fits some envelopes I picked up at Walmart.  The envelopes were on sale -- 75 cents for a box of 100.  What a deal!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday with Denim and Burlap

Masculine birthday cards can be difficult.  Sometimes you just don't want a fish or hunting theme.  So I tried something totally different with no real theme other than it is not feminine!  Kraft paper is always good for masculine cards.  Burlap seems to look good on any card and you can do so much with it.

I guess the card has a somewhat outdoorsy theme:  denim and roasting marshmellows!

The sun is shining!  YAY!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #210

This winter has been the real challenge!  Just as I thought we were going to be feeling spring soon, the temperature dropped thirty degrees and snow is expected this weekend.  What is going on!!!!!?????

My mind is set for spring, bright and cheerful colors and warm temperatures!

So, here is the card I am entering in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I love this die from Memory Box and have made several cards with yellow flowers and green and blue papers.  It's great for birthday and get well cards.

Take care,
Kathy

Hello Foxy

The brown fox jumped over the fence....

Just picked up a stamp set with a cute little fox so I thought it would fit this challenge nicely.

  Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I used a little Washi tape behind the fox.  Wish the orange showed up a bit more.

Taking pictures is a real challenge.  These two pictures were taken on the top of the same bookshelf within minutes of each other, but the lighting is so very different.

Take care,
Kathy

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 205

Starting the week off with a card challenge is inspiring -- sets the tone for the rest of the week.  I saw the challenge yesterday and just sort of mulled ideas and came up with this card.  Cheery, right?

The daisy stamp is from Technique Tuesday (one of the items I purchased with my egift card -- a wonderful present  -- so glad I asked for it!).  I inked the stamp and used my watercolor pen a little bit around the center.

Best Wishes

One of my Christmas gifts was an egift card to Paper Smooches -- yay!   I picked out a couple die sets:  Poinsettias and the Big Bloom die set.   I've been anxious to get up to my cave and try the dies.

The lacy circle in this card is the Sizzix Scallop Circle.  The center flower and the little tag were made with the Big Bloom set.  The sentiment (best Wishes) is from Stampin Up's Petite Pairs.

I will be entering this card in two challenges:  Sweet Sunday and Paper Smooches SPARKS

We received a bit of snow yesterday, so I'll be in my cave today.  Sad, I know....   ;')
