The last few weeks have brought troubles to three of my friends -- one dislocated shoulder (tripped over grandchildren's toys), broken wrist (fell in bathroom) and a broken ankle (fell down curb). All three of these mishaps in a two week span. Things happen in threes, right? So get well cards needed to be made.
I stamped these cute rain boots and tulips (Technique Tuesday Greenhouse stamp) on watercolor paper and then colored them with pastel paints. Purple ink edges the watercolor paper to give a little more contrast with the lavender frame. The base card is a pretty pastel green. I made several of these cards!

Feel Better Soon
Thought I would send a get well card to a friend and also thought I would make a card for a challenge. Well, I did make this card, but I missed the challenge closing date. oops.
I love this little window and the 'feel better soon' sentiment on a pretty yellow background. I added a real lace curtain and stamped herb pots in the window. Hopefully, it will cheer up my friend! 😉
Window die from Memory Box
sentiment from Paper Smooches
herb pots from Stampin' Up set
Happy Monday!!

Get Well -- Caught a Bug?
This morning I did all kinds of chores - watered my vegetable garden and flowers, weeded a little bit, repotted my African violets, and put in a couple loads of laundry -- so I decided I could play this afternoon which is why I have two posts today.
The other card I made today was for the June Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.
I love this Healthy Vibes stamp set. The bugs are sooo cute! I gave the bugs bloodshot eyes, added a few rows of Washi tape and popped on a bright ribbon.
Hope you are having a great weekend,
Kathy

Caught a bug?
When I saw this stamp set, I told myself I did not need it. Well, that lasted about two weeks. Then I gave in. It is soooo cute. Love those bugs and eyes!
Yesterday afternoon I made this card so I could post it to the Paper Smooches challenge this week. Hopefully, the cute little images and cheery paper will cheer up the sickie.

Feel Better Soon
Seems like I have been needing get well cards rather frequently lately. Nothing serious, but enough to warrant a card. Since I needed to make a get well card, I thought I would make the card to fit the Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge.
Here is the challenge photo:
Great colors. And here is my card:
Take care,

Moxie Fab World: Hexagons
The other day I entered a card on the Moxie Fab Hexagon Challenge and since then I have been thinking of hexagon cards -- even while I cleaned the house (yuk!) and made my favorite dish for dinner (yay!)
I love making cards with hexagons! There is something about them.
And then I remembered a card I saw last week on a blog. Why didn't I save it to Pinterest? I have searched my boards and don't see it. what???? I loved it and still see it clearly in my mind with hexagons, a butterfly and splatter spots in grey, white and yellow. I remember the card because the blog was written in German. Have no idea what was said, but I loved the card.
So, here is the card. Don't you love it? One change I made was the sentiment. My uncle and brother-in-law are under the weather so I needed a couple get well cards. I made two identical cards -- they're getting the same card ;') -- good thing they don't see each other (different sides of the family).
I am entering this card in the Hexagons: Happy for Hexagons Challenge in the Moxie Fab World
I asked my husband what he thought of the card featured below. He liked it, but didn't understand why hexagons were trendy. ???
Take care,
Kathy

Hope all is well with everyone. I think our heat wave has lifted a bit today. My poor flowers and vegetable garden.
One of the good results of this 90 degree weather is I stay indoors and make cards! Yay!!
I found a similar card on Pinterest and cut out my own template and added the plaid scarf and eye. Isn't he cute? Perfect for the Scottie or dog lover!
This was a get well card I sent to a friend in the hospital. I love this tulip stamp. The stamp is part of the Greenhouse Society series at Technique Tuesday.
Keep cool!

I love these tulips! The stamp is part of the Greenhouse Society from Technique Tuesday. Sadly, I needed a get well card, but was really happy to use this stamp. ;')
Hope you are all well,

More Class Cards
In both classes that I attend we've made cards using the masking technique (is there another name for this technique?). I really like these cards because they are clean and simple (CAS - part of my new vocabulary!). And I have found that men like the crisp look. The blue get well card was a big hit.
In the next few days I will post another card using this technique along with directions.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Card Class
Every month I attend a 'card class' given by a former Stampin' Up demonstrator and occasionally another class given by a current Stampin' Up demonstrator. All the materials (card stock and paper) are cut to the correct size, embellishments and ribbons are provided, stamps and die cuts are readily available. All I have to do is sit down, follow directions and create a card -- plus have a great time talking with the other women! fun!!
Below are several cards made at these classes.

I love this card. So much that I did purchase the window die (Memory Box). The little flowers and stems are stamped on a small white card and placed behind the window. A touch of lace at the top of the window for curtains.
Flowers were stamped all over a white card with hints of green stems. Then I cut out a smaller flower and added a pearl and placed it next to the happy birthday sentiment. The different shades of blue work well together and the dark blue really adds a special touch.
I like the colors in this card. The card base is a light olive green (sorry, I don't know the correct color name) with teal and white card stock. The top piece is a printed card stock and the green flower centers match the card base. Much prettier in person!
