A few weeks ago I was working with watercolors -- trying to at least. I'll never paint a watercolor painting, but creating and playing with colors, papers and pens is as close to being an oil or watercolor artist as I will ever be. Sometimes I really like what I come up with. Today's card is one of those cards!
I cut a piece of white card stock ( 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"). Then I inked one side of an embossing folder with yellow, then green and blue. I did the yellow ink first so I did not get the other colors on the pad. Then I placed the white card stock in the embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot.
Two hints about doing this: 1) cut the piece of card stock to the desired size before embossing. Once the piece is embossed, trimming with a paper cutter is difficult; 2) inking the embossing folder is better than inking the embossed paper. The ink does not penetrate the nooks and crannies of an embossed piece.
After the piece was embossed and the ink dried, I attached the piece to the blue card stock and added the twine and sentiment before taping to the green base card.
