Happy Halloween

Card #2 for Halloween.  I'm waiting for the windshield repair tech to arrive and either fix or replace my windshield.  A HUGE stone flew into my windshield yesterday and created a HUGE splat.    The noise of the stone hitting the windshield was frightening.

Love these squiggles.  The die cut can be used for lots of shapes.  This one was a bit larger which did not quite fit so I trimmed the outer edge.   The card looked a little drab.  I pulled out the Wink of Stella and added sparkle to the pumpkin and sentiment.  Much better.

Anything Goes with Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Lately I have been noticing Halloween cards on Pinterest so I thought I better get started on a couple.  Halloween will be here before I know it and I want at least a few cards!

This card is similar to one I saw on Pinterest (with which I am still having issues - grrrr).  My ribbon stash includes a roll of ribbon that looks like a spider web though I think it is meant to be black lace.  It is perfect for Halloween.

For an added touch, I inked the edges of the main card and the center background card with my gold ink pen.  Look at the bottom right corner.  Don't you just love it.    I think it really adds a lot and finishes the card nicely.

Boo!

Halloween cards are so much fun to make.  Then again, I think almost every card is fun to make!  Fall colors are terrific and add such depth to cards.  The card below is full of colors and embellishments.

The basic card is kraft stock with a solid orange layer.  The printed paper was purchased last year, but I think it is Martha Stewart.    Burlap is so perfect for Halloween and other fall cards.  I remembered I had a ribbon that sort of looked like spider webbing and found this metallic webby type ribbon in my box.

I love the splatter stamp and Copic colored pumpkins, too.

After making this card, I realized I needed to make another to send to my sister.   The card is pretty much the same except for the orange tag behind the 'boo!' stamp.

The orange tag does make a difference.  I can't decide which I like better.  What do you think?

I'm entering the second card in The Shabby Tea Room #186 Challenge.
The challenge was to create a card based on this picture and include burlap, twine and a pumpkin or two.  Fun!

Enjoy your week,
Kathy
