Another Coffee Card

Actually, I have two cards with coffee themes for the 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Challenge.  Making them is sort of addictive.  I am enjoying the card making even more as I drink my iced mocha coffee.

The first is gift card holder in the shape of a large coffee cup.  The gift card slips behind the black insert on the inside.

I'll post the second card in a little bit.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Spring 2017

Another Coffee Lovers Blog Hop !  Great fun making coffee related cards for this blog hop.  This is a favorite blog hop for many card makers as evidenced by the hundreds of cards already linked up and the blog hop just started two days ago!

I plan to make a couple coffee cards.  Here is the first which is a flat gift card.  'Thanks a latte for all you do!'  This would be a great card as an end of the school year thank you for a teacher, especially a man,  I selected a navy blue card stock that has gold arrow tips.  The sentiment is in navy and red and the coffee cup in blue.  A gift card can be slipped behind the coffee cup and a little blue twine holds the gift card in the slot.

We are expecting rain today so I'll be spending the afternoon in my cave!  yay!  😍

Take care,
Kathy

Thank You Note Cards

Hi Everyone -
Receiving thank you notes seems to be a thing of the past.  I send out a few every year, but not as many as I have.  So to be prepared -- here are a few that I made for future use.

I inked the 'thanks' stamp (Stampin Up) with different colors and then stamped in the middle of the note card.  Because the letters are recessed, the ink does not touch the letters - unless, of course, you accidently tip the ink pad the wrong way....

Then I sponged the different colors around the word and leaves to make the white word stand out a bit more.

Spring is here!  Hurrah!

Another card for the 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

A few days ago I posted a card for the  2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Well, here is another which is the same basic design, but different coffee stamp and colors.

2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Love this blog hop!  It is always a challenge to come up with a coffee related card though one would think it would be easy.  I think and think and think of ideas and different ways of using plain paper, printed paper, stamps and dies.

Well, this time I decided I would do a flat card instead of the usual folded card.  I added a pretty snow flake on red background piece to a white base.  I stamped two coffee cups on another piece of pretty card stock and fuzzy cut the cups.  The bottom of the cup piece is glued to the white but the edges are loose so the gift card can be placed behind the cups.  The red and white twine adds a bit of color and holds the gift card in place (two birds...).

The green gift card adds even more color to the card.  I tried one of my coffee shop gift cards, but it was white and the card looked really dull and boring.

Thanks

Love making coffee thank you cards cause I get to use my 'Paul'  Starbuck's gift card!  I've had this card for years - it has no balance, but I keep it for sentimental reasons.   aaahhh....

Anyhow, I made this card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge (CFC150) which is to make a thank you card and to use twine.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks

Wow!  This card is really different.  I made a couple coffee cup thank you cards for teachers for a friend last week.  This little denim coffee cup was left over so I thought I would use it in the Summer Coffee Lovers Challenge.  But ...  what papers to go with it?  So, I went extreme while thinking of a male teacher or a teacher who thinks outside the box -- stripes and zig zags, of course!

Than I added a little twine for accent and a red 'thanks' at the top.

Take care,
Kathy

Paper Smooches Anything Goes

While going through Pinterest the other day,  I came upon this cute gift card holder.  I just purchased an envelope punch board and thought this card would be a perfect first project -- and I love the punch board!  Really easy to use with great directions, too.

So, I'll be posting the gift card holder to the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes Challenge this week.

The little birdie, notes and 'how tweet of you' are from Paper Smooches My Peeps stamp set.  I added a little bling to the notes.  I just happen to have an i-tunes card to match the notes, too!

Thanks so much

Guess I still have the 4th of July spirit!  Recently I went to a craft show and picked up small paper packs.  One was full of patriotic, red, white and blue papers and I selected one from the pack for this card.

After stamping the sentiment (from PS Salutations) in red on a white piece of card stock, I dry embossed the piece.  Then I placed the top and bottom together and added a blue ribbon and three foil stars.

The little bird is from PS My Peeps stamp set.  The little guy is stamped in black, colored with red and blue and a pale skin and yellow and then I 'fuzzy' cut the bird and tacked to the top of the card.

Simple and cute.  Hope you like it.

Stamps are from Paper Smooches store.
I'll be posting this card to Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes Challenge
and Time Out Challenges.

It's Thursday.  Almost Friday -- have a great weekend!

Card Swap #4

Round 4 of the card swap has started.  We are to send three people elements of a card (2-4 pieces).  Deciding what to send is probably more challenging than making a card with the elements I receive from three people.  So I went to Pinterest for inspiration.

Just last week I purchased a tag die set from Paper Smooches so I knew I wanted to use a tag as one of the elements.  So I selected a piece of card stock (small chevrons) to go with the graph paper tag.  Then I punched out five small pieces (dots and flowers) in similar colors.  I forgot to take a picture before I put my card together and before I mailed my card elements to the other players.

Here's my finished card.  I added some burlap looking ribbon and a sentiment (also from PS).  The layout is based on a card I saw on Pinterest which was done in red, white and blue paper, white and blue stars and red ribbon.

Thanks so much card will be posted to the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy Sunday,
Kathy

Christmas Thank You

Guess I should make a new year's resolution to blog and post more cards in 2015.  I could, but don't know if I would be successful.  Sometimes life just gets in the way.

But not today!!  I needed a thank you card to send to someone who is really special and that was my goal for the day.  But as I was looking at my emails this morning I saw I could make my thank you card which could also be a card for the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge, Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge and the Christmas Card Challenge.  Wow!  Four goals accomplished with one card.  Eureka!!

NOTE:  This a new picture that I loaded a day later.  Better light = better picture!

This is the original picture.  Sad, I know.

Wish my camera took better pictures of red- sorry about that.  The base of the card is a kraft card.  Kraft paper always looks so good with red, white and green.  Love it.

The layout of the card follows the sketch for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge. The Cas-ual Fridays challenge required felt and sequins.   So I cut the felt poinsettia with the die set from Paper Smooches and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches as well.

I hope my friend likes this card.  It was fun to make.

Ok, that's for the start of 2015.  Happy New Year!!!

Hello

Going off to visit relatives so I probably won't be posting much in the next week or so.  This morning I quickly put together a couple cards to enter the Viva La Verve challenge.

My collection of Verve stamps consists of one small mitten stamp set, a tiny little banner and a set of flowers and leaves.  I hope I win the drawing -- I need more stamps!

Two cards - two sketches:

Thanks So Much

Sunflowers and geraniums are my favorite flowers.  This sunflower stamp from Stampin Up is on my top ten list of most used and loved stamps.

The card is based on a sketch (below).  I added a dark brown patterned paper (can you see the round dots?) with a square of burlap on a white square card.  Then I stamped the yellow sunflower on a piece of watercolor paper and used my water pen to highlight the edges with orange ink.

I picked up some brads a month or so ago so that was good timing!    The orange brad and polka dot flag add a little extra touch.  The 'Thanks so much' stamp is from Paper Smooches.

I'll be posting this card on two challenges:

Thanks with a Gift Card

Sunday I was thinking about a thank you for a teacher and decided the ol' gift card was probably the best and easiest route.  At the same time I was thinking about a new challenge -- CAS(E) this Sketch.  Below is the result of all that thought.  It was a slow process for some reason.  Must be the pollen!

Materials:
The cardboard is a recycled coffee cup cuff.
Sentiment is Paper Smooches
Coffee cup die and stamp from My Creative Time

Thanks!

Happy Monday!   Love the little squares on this card.   The idea came from a pin on Pinterest -- I spend way too much time looking at pins!!

Have a great week.

Hydrangea Notecard Set

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers (geraniums are number one) so I really enjoyed making these simple yet so pretty notecards.

The hydrangea stamp is from the Stampin Up  'Just Because' set.

Have a great week,
Kathy

Thanks

A friend asked me to make her a thank you card this week.  She wanted pink to be the main color so I hunted through my papers for pink colors and found a few.  I placed a few pieces on a white card and gasped -- how boring and plain!  Then I pulled out ten different colors of card stock looking for the right match with the pinks and this grey card stock stood out from all the others.

The layout is based on the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge this week.

Thank You

Have you sent your thank you notes for the Christmas presents you received?  Do you send thank you cards?  I don't send many and I do like to receive them.  Sometimes I just send an email, but there are occasions when nothing but a card will do.    With that in mind, I made up the thank card pictured below.   Though winter is here, I love sunflowers!

I love the simplicity of this card.  After sponging the panel, I stamped the sunflower and sentiment.  Orange and red colors just do not photograph well.  These colors are lighter on the card than they appear here.

Supplies:
plain white card stock
Inks:  Memento Desert Sand and Potter's Clay, Memories Hunter Green (thanks) and some other lighter green for the flower stem
Stamps:  the sunflower was a clear single stamp and 'thanks' is Paper Smooches

One of my goals this year was to enter one card making challenge or contest a month.  I had no idea there were so many!  Well, I was going to place this card in the CAS-UAL Fridays challenge but I missed the noon deadline.   sigh.

Take care,
Kathy
